An ultramodern engine line-up, a class-beating Cd value of 0.32, extensive BlueEFFICIENCY measures, as well as new development tools such as the "energy-transparent vehicle" all play their part in delivering the good energy efficiency figures. The ML 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC is particularly outstanding in this respect: it is 28 percent more economical than its predecessor, consumes just 6.0 l per 100 km on the NEDC driving cycle (158 g CO2/km) and can cover as much as 1500 kilometres on a single tank of fuel.

In line with the Mercedes-Benz brand philosophy, the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class represents the embodiment of the Mercedes-Benz holistic safety concept of Real Life Safety, which is derived from what happens in a real accident situation. In combination with the front and rear deformation zones, the high-strength passenger cell of the M-Class provides a highly effective foundation for the occupant protection systems. Both active safety and driver-fitness safety in the new M-Class are further improved by assistance systems that will already be familiar, primarily from the S-Class and E-Class.

Arrow-shaped front end with large air intakes

Whichever way you look at it, the new C63 AMG Coupe Black Series proudly displays its motorsports ties. The arrow-shaped front end with the central Mercedes star in the radiator grille is the visual expression of its forceful forward thrust. The air intakes in the distinctive front valance direct a continuous air flow through the large cooling modules, while two openings in the aluminum hood aid the outflow of heat from the engine. The angled struts in the front skirt emphasize the vehicle's width and the black front splitter beneath provides aerodynamic balance.

The distinctive design continues through to the side view. The newly developed front axle with wider track is accommodated by new fenders, extended by 2.2inches. "6.3" badges indicate the sheer power of the large-displacement, eight-cylinder, high-revving, naturally aspirated engine beneath the hood. The impression of air outlets behind the wheel arches is evocative of powerful racing cars, while the newly designed AMG sills bear black trim elements that continue the visual of the front splitter. The rear fenders have also been widened by 3.3inches to house the track of the rear axle. Virtual air vents ahead of the rear wheels complete the picture.

AMG alloy wheels featuring lightweight forging technology

Mighty 255/35 R 19 and 285/30 R 19 wheels grace the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series at market launch. Mounted on 9 x 19 (front) and 9.5 x 19 (rear) AMG alloys, the wheel/tire combination fills out the fenders to stunning effect and has a significant impact on the dynamic appearance of this new AMG sports car.

Painted in titanium gray, the polished alloy wheels are made using extremely lightweight forging technology - as on the SLS AMG. Compared with conventional wheels, these forged wheels are a total of 24.2 pounds lighter overall. The lower weight results in reduced unsprung masses, which improves both suspension characteristics and steering precision.

Broad rear end with diffuser insert

The rear of the Black Series coupe also underlines its performance potential. The new rear valance with its distinctive black diffuser insert creates visual breadth. Similar to the SLS AMG GT3, it extends beyond the profile of the rear valance. The black mesh on the upper edge of the diffuser insert is just as much of an eye-catcher as the AMG sports exhaust. Both of the chromed twin tailpipes integrated into the rear valance feature an angular cross-section. The spoiler lip on the trunk lid is painted in body color and reduces lift at the rear axle, resulting in greater stability at high speeds. The AMG logo with its discreet "Black Series" lettering is reserved exclusively for the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series.

Engine with high-tech components from SLS AMG

A displacement of 6.3 liters, a maximum output of 510 hp and torque of 457 lb-ft from eight cylinders - one glance at the technical data and it's clear that the technology behind the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is every bit a match for its sensational appearance. The high-torque M156 naturally aspirated engine was fine-tuned specifically for the new two-door model. Its forged pistons, connecting rods and lightweight crankshaft all come directly from the SLS AMG and are complemented by a new engine control unit. As a result, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph takes just 4.2 seconds (all data preliminary).

High revving, agile road manners and phenomenal pulling power - the qualities of the large-displacement AMG high-speed naturally aspirated engine are every driver's dream. The jewel in the crown is the inspiring AMG eight-cylinder sound from the AMG sports exhaust system.

The optimized engine oil cooling delivers more performance even under harsh race-track conditions. With the aid of components from the SLS AMG, engineers added 50 percent to the cooling surface of the oil cooler. Power transmission is handled by the highly acclaimed, innovative AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports gearbox. Four transmission modes, the rev-matching function and RACE START deliver maximum driving fun and a high degree of versatility. In the "Sport plus" and "Manual" modes gear shift takes a mere 100 milliseconds.

AMG coil-over sports suspension with an AMG rear-axle differential lock

The AMG sports suspension is a sophisticated new development. Conceived as a coil-over suspension -- as is the norm in motorsport and a typical feature of Black Series models -- it offers a range of setting options, and allows the driver to create an individual set-up. Track has been widened by 1.57 inches (front) and 3.11 inches (rear). In conjunction with modified anti-roll bars, the C63 AMG Coupe Black Seriesdelivers impressive dynamics, tenacious grip and minimal body roll. The AMG speed-sensitive sports steering facilitates superb vehicle control, with modified mapping of the power assistance for maximum steering precision.

The AMG rear-axle differential lock is standard equipment and responsible for reliable traction, especially under race track conditions. The 3-phase ESP®is the ideal solution for all driving situations - using the ESP®button, the driver can choose from "ESP ON", "Sport Handling Mode" and "ESP OFF". As a result of the increased dynamics the AMG high-performance brake system and the anti-lock functionality was reprogrammed. The larger braking system features discs with race-proven composite (two-piece) technology at the front (15.35 x 1.42 inches) and integral discs at the rear (14.17 x 1.02 inches). Red-painted six-piston fixed calipers at the front and four-piston fixed calipers at the rear provide reliable stopping power to the perforated, fade-resistant rotors, which are ventilated at all four corners.

Interior with a functional motorsport atmosphere

The inspiring high-tech components and the spectacular exterior design both find their logical continuation in the interior of the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. Finished in black with red accents, the interior of the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series displays the functional atmosphere of a true race car combined with outstanding quality and meticulously crafted details. Two AMG sport seats provide the best levels of lateral support and thus optimum vehicle control on the race track. The black DINAMICA microfiber upholstery on the center panels of the seats and doors is a new type of synthetic fiber characterized by its high fade resistance. The omission of the rear bench underlines the vehicle's sporty character and reduces its weight. The C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is also available as a four-seater incorporating the AMG sports seats familiar from the C63 AMG Coupe, with individual seats for the rear.

The AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfiber with its rim flattened top and bottom features aluminum shift paddles for manual gear shifting. Red seat belts and red contrasting topstitching on the steering wheel, seats, door trim, door armrests, center console and shift lever add eye-catching accents. An exclusive "Black Series" logo adorns the trim on the dashboard, which is finished in high-gloss black piano lacquer. The dashboard with separate dials has a three-dimensional TFT color screen, which displays the AMG logo when the vehicle door is opened. Integrated into the AMG main menu are display options for engine oil temperature, ESP® mode and gear selection. The rotary control for the C, S, S+ and M transmission modes and RACE START is located on the center console next to the selector lever, which is finished in DINAMICA microfiber.

The C63 AMG Coupe Black Series is clear proof that outstanding dynamics and excellent active and passive safety need not be mutually exclusive. Airbags, belt tensioners and belt-force limiters for all seats are part of the standard equipment, as are the ABS anti-lock braking system, the 3-stage ESP®, the tire pressure monitoring system and electronic cruise control.

AMG Track package and AMG Aerodynamics package

AMG has two special packages to offer for even further enhanced dynamics. The AMG Track package comprises 255/35 R 19 front and 285/30 R 19 rear sports tires from Dunlop. They were developed exclusively for the C63 AMG Coupé Black Series and dramatically increase grip. Active cooling on the rear-axle drive unit improves performance under tough race-track conditions. Its cooling module is located in front of the diffuser insert in the rear valance for optimum airflow.

The AMG Aerodynamics package includes exterior winglets made from genuine carbon-fiber on the front valance. There is also a fixed carbon-fiber spoiler at the rear with adjustable aerofoil. Both components not only increase the downforce at the front and rear axle, they also optimize the vehicle's aerodynamic balance.

Four stunning Black Series models since 2006

Despite its race track dynamics, the new C63 AMG Coupe Black Series offers all the characteristics of a true Mercedes-Benz - everyday drivability, durability, safety and quality.

The most powerful C-Class of all time is the fourth Black Series model to be launched since 2006. The first one was the SLK55 AMG Black Series (not offered in the U.S.). The AMG 5.5-liter V8 engine in the thoroughbred two-seater boasted a maximum output of 400 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Just 120 units were produced between between July 2006 and April 2007. The CLK63 AMG Black Series followed directly in its footsteps. The two-seater coupe was powered by an AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine with 500 hpand 465 lb-ft of torque. Just 700 units of this very exclusive model were built between April 2007 and March 2008.

The highlight until now was the SL65 AMG Black Series, unveiled in July 2008. The high-performance coupe remains an attention grabber to this day with its spectacular appearance, unique performance data, lightweight design and high-end exclusivity. The AMG 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine with a maximum output of 661 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque made the SL65 AMG Black Series the most powerful AMG vehicle ever to enter series production. A total of 350 units were built from September 2008 through August 2009.

The C63 AMG Coupe Black Series celebrates its world premiere at the Formula 1 German Grand Prix on the Nürburgring (July 23 - 24, 2011). U.S. market launch will follow in early 2012.

Mercedes Benz SLK Roadster 2012

Stuttgart – With the completely new developed SLK, one of the most exciting and successful sports cars ever built is entering its third generation. The new roadster takes driving pleasure and open-air enjoyment to a new level. It blends light-footed sportiness with stylish comfort, a striking sports-car design with total suitability for everyday use and top performance with exemplary ecology. What’s more, the SLK is proud to present the world premiere of the panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control, which switches to light or dark at the touch of a button. Exemplary efficiency and sporty flair come courtesy of powerful new 4- and 6-cylinder engines featuring the standard-specification ECO start/stop function. With their superb levels of performance they are up to 25 per cent more economical than their predecessors. A unique set of safety equipment bestows role-model status on the SLK in this segment. With its wealth of technical innovations the SLK is once again the benchmark in its class.
“The new SLK embodies the role of the trend-setter like no other car,” says Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. “I am convinced that with its passionate design, its high-quality interior and its modesty at the filling station it will continue to provide an enormous amount of fun on the road in future, too, consolidating its status as a cult roadster.”
Innovations are part of the successful history of the Mercedes-Benz SLK:
  • In 1996 the first generation caused a furore with the vario-roof, which transformed the wide-open roadster into a coupé with a fixed roof at the touch of a button in just a few seconds
  • The second generation placed the warm Airscarf around the neck and shoulders of the occupants as needed, ensuring pleasurable open-top motoring even in cooler temperatures
  • Now the third generation is presenting a unique highlight – the world premiere of the panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control. It can be quickly switched to light or dark at the press of a button
But the new Mercedes-Benz SLK offers more than merely individual highlights. It assumes a leading position in every discipline and offers fun at the wheel in every respect, with no half-hearted compromises. It impresses with characteristics which are generally deemed to be irreconcilable: it succeeds in uniting excellent comfort and high-quality equipment and appointments with a decidedly sporty flair. At the same time the new roadster is one of the most economical and environmentally friendly in its class and sets new safety standards. All-weather driving enjoyment – with the roof open and closed, in leisure-time and everyday use – is firmly anchored in the SLK’s genes.
Timeless aesthetics embodies hallmark sports-car sensuality
The designers have tailor-made a body for the new SLK which emphasises its classic roadster proportions and puts them in the spotlight to thrilling effect. Behind the long bonnet is a compact passenger compartment positioned far back, and a short tail end. The SLK will tempt potential customers with the key attributes that characterise all the classic roadsters from Mercedes-Benz and that have also made many of them automotive icons of the brand.
The first feature to catch the eye is an upright radiator grille that stands proud and confident in the wind and bears the new Mercedes-Benz brand look. It facilitates the long and well-proportioned bonnet and with its rearward light-catching contours it already hints at the roadster’s dynamic qualities. The wide radiator grille bears the Mercedes-Benz star in a prominent central position and displays a powerfully contoured, chromed fin at the front. The clearly defined headlamps complete the look for the new SLK’s face, which resembles that of the legendary 190 SL from the 1950s, which is regarded by many as being the original “SLK”.
But it was certainly not just the past that the designers were focusing on; with the new SLK’s front end they also intentionally created a close visual link with the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG “gullwing model” and the new CLS.
The amazing and measurable proof of the meticulously detailed work that has been carried out is that in spite of the more striking, steeper front and the larger frontal area, the Cd value has been cut to just 0.30 – a brilliant achievement (the predecessor model’s Cd value was 0.32).
The timelessly classic shape of the side view with the classic roadster proportions embodies aesthetics of the highest calibre and is a visual promise of the sportiness and driving pleasure in store. Fine details and quotes show the care that has been taken by the Mercedes-Benz designers. For example, a fillet conceals the boot joint, so that the side line cannot get in the way, as it usually does with similar roof designs. The ventilation grilles in the front wings with a chromed fin are reminiscent of the famous Mercedes-Benz roadsters of the 1950s. In the new SLK they form the perfect starting point for a feature line which flows to the muscular rear wing, using light and shadow to add style and timeless aesthetics to the sides. Meanwhile the upper edge of the wide headlamps – which boast all-LED technology for the first time – also appears to flow into the feature line.
Interior with style and puristic good looks
With the most compact dimensions in its class, the new SLK has an interior whose generous size is exemplary. To achieve this, the designers have developed interior appointments which offer the driver and passenger the highest degree of perfect perceived quality and puristic precision. The interior is characterised by stylish sportiness and high-quality, authentic materials which have been processed with perfect precision and skilled craftsmanship. The centre console and other trim parts gleam in brushed aluminium. Wood can be selected as an option in high-gloss dark brown walnut or high-gloss black ash. Four round, galvanised air outlets integrated in the dashboard emphasise that this model well and truly belongs to the Mercedes-Benz sports car family, their shape being a nod to those in the SLS.
The SLK’s generous round dials are flanked by the information display for the online computer. The colour display for the communications and entertainment functions is housed in the centre of the dashboard, and can be easily read by both the driver and passenger. On the top of the dashboard, also in the centre, sits a fine analogue clock – an unusual detail which subtly underlines the roadster’s stylish character.
Other high-quality items of equipment include a multifunction sports steering wheel with a flattened bottom section and a thick leather crown, plus optional sun-reflecting leather which noticeably reduces the degree to which the surfaces it covers heat up, impressive ambient lighting and the innovative neck-level heating system Airscarf, familiar from the predecessor.
Unique item of equipment: Magic Sky Control
For the first time Mercedes-Benz is offering a choice of three variants of the lightweight-construction vario-roof for the new SLK: In just a few seconds this feature transforms the roadster into a coupé with a “fixed” roof at the touch of a button – and vice versa:
  • The standard version is a roof painted in the vehicle colour
  • Alternatively there is the option of a dark tinted panoramic vario-roof
  • The third variant is a world premiere – the panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control. This glass roof switches to light or dark as you wish at the press of a button. When light it is virtually transparent, offering an open-air experience even in cold weather. In its dark state the roof provides welcome shade and prevents the interior from heating up when the sun’s rays are very intense. In other words: a feel-good atmosphere at the touch of a button
Innovative draught-stop system Airguide
A comfortable alternative to the conventional draught-stop is a new pivoting draught-stop for the SLK which has been invented by Mercedes-Benz aerodynamics engineers. It consists of pivoting transparent plastic layers which are attached to the reverse of the roll-over bars. The driver or passenger can swing them to the centre of the vehicle in a flash, thus taming turbulent air flow.
Spirit and efficiency
There will initially be three models of the SLK available at its market launch, all of them powered by new engines with direct injection. The four-cylinder engines in the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY and SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY develop 184 hp and 204 hp respectively from a displacement of 1796 cubic centimetres. The SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY is the most economical roadster in its segment. With the enhanced, optional seven-speedautomatic transmission 7G‑Tronic Plus it returns 46.3 mpg on the combined cycle. The frugal model sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 7.0 seconds, and achieves its top speed at 147 mph (150 with manual transmission).
The SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY is equipped as standard with the 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission and returns 45.5 mpg on the combined cycle. From a standstill it reaches 62 mph in 6.6 seconds, and it has a top speed of 150 mph.
The V6 engine in the SLK 350 BlueEFFICIENCY draws 306 hp from its 3498 cubic-centimetre displacement, using this power to accelerate in 5.6 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (top speed 155 mph). It returns 39.7 mpg on the combined cycle. The new V6 engine has been developed from the ground up and its most important hallmarks are its 3rd-generation direct injection, piezo injectors and multi-spark ignition.
The exemplary efficiency, with fuel consumption improved by up to a quarter compared with the predecessor models, is also due to the ECO start/stop system which is fitted as part of the standard specification in all models.
Suspension for the closest link with the road
There are also three suspension versions to choose from:
  • A conventional steel suspension comes as standard
  • A sports suspension with harder springs and dampers ensures a systematically sporty driving experience
  • As an alternative a Dynamic Handling package is available. Its merits include a suspension with continuous adjustable damping. It has an electronically controlled fully automatic damping system, so the vehicle rolls away gently even on poor road surfaces, but still offers high driving dynamics
Also included in the Dynamic Handling package are a Direct-Steer system and the Torque Vectoring Brakes developed by Mercedes-Benz. The Direct-Steer system offers more handling and agility than the standard steering, whilst also reducing the amount of physical effort required when parking. In critical conditions the Torque Vectoring Brakes produce a defined rotational movement of the vehicle about the vertical axis in fractions of seconds through selective brake actuation at the rear wheel on the inside of the bend. This results in the SLK stabilising without any compromises where dynamism is concerned, and it steers into the bend precisely and under full control.
Ingenious material mix and high levels of safety
The new SLK’s bodyshell structure has been further refined, with the bonnet and wings now made of aluminium.
The new Mercedes-Benz SLK also sets new benchmarks in terms of safety. The third generation of the powerful trend-setter will make use of a whole host of the latest assistance systems to support the driver, including the drowsiness detection system ATTENTION ASSIST, developed by Mercedes-Benz and the anticipatory occupant protection system Pre-Safe® , which is unique in the world, both fitted as standard; plus the optional Pre-Safe®Brake, which can apply the brakes autonomously in the event of an impending rear-end collision. As such, with the SLK, Mercedes-Benz is consistently and significantly exceeding the requirements imposed by safety standards.
Those wishing to do so can extend the host of assistance systems in the new SLK even further:
  • The Intelligent Light System provides five lighting functions (cornering light function, country mode, motorway mode, active light function and enhanced fog lamps), which are activated depending on the driving conditions
  • The Speed Limit Assist is able to detect speed limit signs using a camera on the inside of the windscreen and indicate the respective detected speed limit on a display in the instrument cluster
The new SLK will launch in the UK in June, 2011.  Pricing and UK specifications are still to be confirmed.

Mercedes Benz C Class 2012

The restyled 2012 C-Class sedan is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. in the summer of 2011. The front and rear end of the popular Mercedes sedan have been enhanced with a more distinctive design. The luxurious interior is now emphasized by the stylish new dashboard, which features a premium, fine-grain finish and stylish trim elements, as well as a high-resolution color display in the instrument cluster. Fuel economy has been improved by as much as 15 percent, thanks to new direct-injection engines and the redesigned 7-speedautomatic transmission. Five new driver assistance systems ranging from the ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system through to the Blind Spot Assist are now available in the C-Class lineup. New- generation telematics offer new infotainment and navigation features.
"In terms of driveline and safety systems, the new-generation C-Class offers the com- fort and safety of our luxury vehicles - and with many high-end details in the interior evocative of the new CLS, the new C-Class sets completely new benchmarks in its segment when it comes to premium look-and-feel," says Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Execu- tive Vice President Sales & Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars. This interior upgrade is further enhanced by the latest generation of telematics, which not only features com- pletely new visuals, but also brings improved functionality.
A total of more than 2,000 new parts distinguish the newest generation of the Mer- cedes-Benz C-Class from its predecessor. The U.S. market introduction is scheduled for summer 2011 (available to order in Europe as of January 2011). Alongside the generous standard equipment, the Sport and Luxury versions of the new C-Class form the basis of the individualization program, with both lines now more clearly dif- ferentiated from each other.
The C-Class is Mercedes-Benz's highest volume model range, and therefore especially important. The current range has chalked up global sales of more than one million units since its launch in March 2007. Since the market introduction of the first C- Class in 1982 (known then as the 190), Mercedes-Benz has sold more than 8.5 mil- lion vehicles around the world.
Dynamic, determined and confident exterior
The bumper now has a more distinctive and dynamic design, with the front end adopting the brand's new design language. The central element of the front end is the grille, which is further enhanced by the new bumper design. The center air intake opens upward in a v-shape and forms the core element of the grille design. Distinc- tive lines emerge from the base of the aggressive arrow design in the center. Running beneath the headlamps, these character lines transition into the side profile. The out- board air intakes in the bumper are positioned very low down to give the car a more muscular stance.
The C-Class features a new aluminum hood, which contributes to weight reduc- tion and consequently to improved fuel efficiency. Contours around the head- lamps and grille bring additional emphasis to the front-end arrow form. Working together with the redesigned headlamps, the overall front-end look is far more distinctive.
Modified clear glass headlamps create a more dynamic and determined look and, to- gether with the hood, grille and bumper enhance the arrow visual at the front end. This precise, contemporary look is reinforced by the design of both the exterior and interior of the headlamp units, which feature a finely balanced interplay between matte and gloss surfaces. The halogen headlamps follow the classic format with low beam located on the outside and high beam in the inside, while the indicator lamps are discreetly positioned in the outer corners toward the fenders.
The available bi-xenon headlamps come with active functions and bring added depth to the appearance with a series of LED modules. A C-shaped positioning light defines the nighttime design, with cornering lights located behind it and stretching outward to the main lamp module. At the base of the headlamps are broad horizontal LED in- dicator units. Also horizontal are the LED daytime running lights located in the bumper, which make the C-Class unmistakable from a distance.
On the rear bumper, the character lines and shutlines have been modified to add em- phasis to the vehicle's stance. This is especially evident in the steep rise of the char- acter line running outward toward the rear lights. A continuous character line on the upper edge of the rear bumper runs into the fenders of the C-Class to provide a con- nection to the sides and emphasizes the sporty character of the rear view. A new one- piece jewel case on the tail lights provides further integration into the rear of the ve- hicle. The characteristic sinuous surface line is now reflected on the inside of the lights and is reminiscent of earlier models. The distinctive depth of the lights are achieved by LED indicators located in the center that appear to float in front of the more deeply set red LED bands above and below. The rear light pattern is particularly distinctive at night.
The bodyshell of the new C-Class is distinguished by its outstanding aerodynamics. With a cd figure of 0.26, not only is it best-in-class, its drag plane of cd x A = 0.57 m2 also cuts more smoothly through the air than most compact and even sub-compact cars.
Premium and sporty interior
One focal point of the work done in the interior was the redesign of the dashboard with the aim of creating a powerful, sporty and premium look-and-feel that in- cludes extensive enhancement to the trim. The surfaces of the controls are more finely detailed and feature a metallic finish. The stepped hood of the instrument binnacle now extends to incorporate the central display and runs onward into the passenger side enhanced by a subtle character line. The central, trapezoidal air vents and the outer circular vents are accentuated with metallic trim elements.
Central to the design of the new dashboard is a prominent trim panel. This ele- ment stretches from the central air vents along the passenger side to the outer air vent, adding visual width to the interior. The surface grain on the top portion of the dashboard continues along the upper edges of the door panels.
The new-generation center console is distinguished by its rectangular silver keys and emphasizes the premium feel of the interior in combination with matte keys, high-gloss surfaces and a new knurled control knob. Together with the new- generation telematics, the restyled C-Class also receives a new instrument binna- cle with integrated display. Oriented toward the driver are three tubular gauge surrounds with metallic surfaces that further enhance the aggressive character of the C-Class.
The luxury feel is emphasized by the new-generation leather steering wheel intro- duced with the all-new CLS and now available as standard in the C-Class. The steer- ing wheel features a chrome-plated central spoke and further accentuates the car's stylish and sporty ambience.
The new C250 Sport and C300 4MATIC Sport models come with standard brushed aluminum trim, while the C350 Sport has distinctive Black Ash. The Luxury versions feature Burl Walnut trim.
Drivelines with more power and better fuel economy
Fuel economy has been improved by up to 15 percent. All new direct-injection ver- sions feature exceptional efficiency and environmentally-friendly fuel consumption. All models also come with the redesigned seven-speed automatic transmission, with the gear ratios on all versions optimized for fuel economy.
The highlight in the engine lineup is the introduction of the new V6 gasoline engine in the C350 Sport Sedan, featuring the innovative and highly efficient BlueDIRECT process. The improvement in efficiency is combined with a considerable increase in output. The C350 Sport Sedan now generates 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque (previ- ously 268 hp and 258 lb-ft), while fuel economy has been improved by 5 percent compared with the outgoing C350 model.
The four-cylinder engine (new for the U.S. market) features direct injection and tur- bocharging and is also distinguished by outstanding combined fuel economy of 24 mpg. This marks an improvement of nearly 15 percent compared with the 2011MY C300.
